handmade Halloween

We love Halloween around our house.  Any excuse to dress up is right up CAT-5’s alley!  This year she picked out a TWO hundred dollar mermaid outfit!  AWESOME, but let’s see if we can’t make one.  I was pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

A little fabric, a tank top and a few starfish and a mermaid was born!
(for less than $30)
I followed this tutorial (which pinterest has blocked for some reason so I will try to find "real" link)on how to make a tank top dress.  It’s pretty easy and then all I had to do was add the little mermaid fins.
After living in a hood where no one participated in trick-or-treating, the g-town is a big hit.
Tons of kids, houses all decorated and candy galore…what more could a kid ask for?

Thank goodness the wind finally died down or else we would have FROZE last night.  Since when is it FREEZING in the GA...it's only November!

CMAs, candy and a blanket will be making my night,
join me for first day tomorrow!!!!!

my LOVE

Today marks SEVEN years that me and my old man have been hitched.

Always crazy to look back and see how much life has changed.  Can't help but be proud that we are still madly in lurve!  Life ain't always easy, but having someone that puts up with my biotchness awesome personality sure does make it all worth while!

Happy Anniversary to the best hubby, friend, daddy, partner, handyman, mechanic, dirt maker, short people loving man I could convince to marry me!  I think we rock and can't wait to see what life holds for our future!

We spend most of our time like this...cracking up!

It's rare but occasionally we can be serious.

Off to shed a few tears while watching our wedding dvd...YES it's that good!

ps. If you want to know exactly why I love this man you can read more about it here and if you want to know a little bit more about how we met go here and if you want to know about our life planning you can go here! Ya, know if you're into knowing every detail of our lives!

handMADE mother's DAY

This year for Mother's Day, I was able to bust out a complete handmade holiday!  Yeah me!

My inspiration came from mimi's brand new patio, she needed a few pretties.  I started with coasters.

This project is super easy and only requires a few supplies.

I found great papers with great prints and colors without being TOO loud.

LOVE THEM

At the last minute I decided that she needed a wreath and maybe a garden flag.  {I totally copied this idea from the CRAFTYLADY, whom I have placed several orders from and will again I am sure.  So hopefully she will not mind.}

{I added a few more fabric flowers after this pic}

I fell in LOVE with this orange fabric immediately!

more flowers

I am so mad I don't have a better pic of this super cute tray the hubs made her.  I found several inspiration pictures on pinterest and LOVED the idea of a tray from an old door.  Since we didn't have an extra door laying around the hubs busted one out!  I really dig the way it turned out!  And who doesn't love fork and spoon handles!!

No Mother's Day would be complete without a flower bouquet custom made by the one and only CAT-5!

I have to say a handmade holiday is so rewarding!  I hope to have more in the future!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's DAY!

oldie but GOODIE

So I am back with a great little tute on how to create a really cute gift for the kid-os at school.

These are all of the items you will need:
small bag
cute ribbon
candy
gift tag
whole punch

You simply place all the goodies into the bag, punch a whole in the tag and tie it all up with ribbon!

Take THAT pinterest! I mean how cute is that! Especially knowing by the time they made it home they look like this

It makes me feel like all my hard work paid off!! I am exhausted just thinking about it!

5 Reasons WHY

I LOVE Adam Michael Davis

1.  His hands are always dirty.

2.  He goes antiquing with me.

3.  He wears striped Polos almost every day of his life.

4.  When we were seniors in high school he let me stick a pencil in his eye.

5.  He carried a photo of me in his wallet long before we become "more" than just friends.

I seriously do LOVE this guy, he is so fabulous and most certainly completes me.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I will post a small tute tomorrow on how to whip up some fabulous valentine's.  I know it will be a day late, but you can use it for the next school partaaaay!!  So be sure to come back and check it!!

Peace and LOVE
